Para sa Bata, Para sa Bayan. Once again, the Schools Division Office of Urdaneta City stayed true to its battle cry when its Medical Unit, headed by Dr. Sheila Ann P. Perez, volunteered to help vaccinate residents of Urdaneta City in order to protect them from the dreaded COVID-19 virus
The team started their duty last October and to date have jabbed more than 10,000 residents who trooped to their assigned area located at CB Mall - Urdaneta. From Thursdays to Saturdays, Dr. Perez and her team would arrive two hours earlier than the opening time in order to prepare for the day’s work. The team had to know beforehand what vaccine brand was available, the number of vaccine vials on hand, and that the printed Health Declaration Forms are enough.
As the doors to the mall are opened, those to be vaccinated are screened by Dr. Shiela Ann Perez herself. Using the Health Declaration Form as the basis for her assessment; she gets to decide who is qualified to be vaccinated. She then passes them along with their Health Declaration Form to the vaccinators - Katherine T. Trinidad, Ricardo D. Nastor and Aris R. Magday. Once vaccinated, the vaccinated resident proceeds to any of the recorders - Jessica C. Oliver, Maria Theresa l. Eleccion, Velladonna V. Amansec and Florido Carl Joseph A. Dela Cruz.
From Dr. Shiela Ann Perez to the vaccinators and recorders, all of them make up SDO – Urdaneta’s Medical Team. The jabs this group had applied contributed to the greater percentage of fully vaccinated and boosted residents of our city.
