ICDCR 2021 GOES VIRTUAL
​The very first Online International Conference on Dance Research with the theme of “Presentation of Dance Researches” was held on February 18-20, 2021 through a virtual platform, supported by the Chairman of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Shirly Halili-Cruz, together with the Deputy Executive Director of the NCCA, Marichu Tellano.

ONLINE NSPC AND RSPC CONDUCTED
The Department of Education (DepEd) conducted its first online National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) from August 11 to August 13, 2021, while the Online Regional School Press Conference (RSPC) was a 3-day seminar which started on November 24, 2021, and ended last November 26, 2021, using the platform Zoom.

UCNHS Speech Laboratory Grand Opening
The Speech Laboratory at Urdaneta City National High School was officially opened December 14, 2021. The Special Program in Journalism Team, teachers from the English Department, parents, and community members participated in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in UCNHS’ new Speech Laboratory.
STEM STRAND INITIATES WORK IMMERSION, OTHER STRANDS FOLLOW SUIT
The ongoing COVID-19 crisis brought havoc to the educational system. In the Senior High School (SHS) setting, the implementation of Work Immersion, a necessary course in Senior High School, was significantly hampered. As the country went on lockdown to prevent the spread of the dreaded Covid-19 virus, Work Immersion had to be put on hold.

UCNHS Secures DILG Safety Seal
Last March 29, 2022, the Urdaneta City National High School (UCNHS) received its Safety Seal certificate from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Urdaneta City as a certification that the school is cleared in preparation for the pilot face-to-face classes, expansion, and transitioning to the new normal.

UCNHS BATCH ’92 DONATES BOOKS, ADOPTS NEW READING CENTER
The opening of the new reading center started with a ribbon cutting which was led by Ms. Jeannette Mendoza, Batch ’92 Chairperson, Ms. Maricris Divina, Batch ’92 President and Ma’am Perlita A. Briones, Head Teacher VI of the English Department. After which, the signing of the deed of donation was done.

UCNHS SSG launches “A Book with A Heart” Project
In line with National Reading Month, the Supreme Student Government (SSG) Organization launched its first conjoined project along with the Senior High School English and Filipino Faculty of Urdaneta City National High School (UCNHS) on November 15-19, 2021 which aimed to collect books and school supplies for the day care pupils of a chosen rural area.

The safety seal certificate is valid from March 29, 2022 to September 29, 2022. The protocol compliance will be evaluated and determined for succeeding recognition renewal.

Work Immersion (WI) is a program that allows SHS students to simulate employment and use their competencies in areas of specialization and applied studies in real-world settings. Work immersion is one of the required subjects for graduating students, and it requires Senior High School students to participate in a practicum related to their course.
