It was a pleasant midnight. I was sleeping tightly. I opened only one eye when I heard the door creaked. I immediately stood up when I realized that I was alone. I was alone! My parents and siblings left me to go on a vacation. You know, as a middle child, I am always forgotten. But it’s alright, I’d rather read books and listen to music all day here at the house alone than being with my family who always make me feel excluded.
I held the doorknob of the opened door. Who was that? Maybe a thief? I suddenly remembered the time when I saved my little sister from a man who’s trying to steal her phone. I punched him multiple times until he lost his consciousness. My little sister never thanked me though.
I heard footsteps. It’s getting louder. I heard sobs. W-wait, is she crying? She’s a girl based on her voice. But why is she crying?
“Akira” she called my name. I had goosebumps. Her voice is familiar. I walked towards the voice. My heart beats faster in every step. I was surprised when I found out who she is.
“Kelly?” It was my little sister. “Why are you here? Why are you crying and why are you full of blood?” I worriedly asked.
She looked at me teary eyed. “They’re dead.” she whispered. I was stunned. “They’re dead, Akira. Mom, dad, and Kyla” Kyla is our older sister. Kelly cried. I was so shocked. I covered my mouth and cried too. There are so many questions running on my mind. How did that happen? Did they got involved in a car accident? Why is Kelly here?
I looked at her. She slowly turned her gaze at me and smirked. My eyes widened. No way! She pulled out a knife.
“Bye, Akira” she laughed like a demon.
“ AHHHHHHHHHHH!”
